Minyo Station

２００８年１月に創立された新しい形の民謡楽団。 佐藤松豊氏の「日本民謡を世界中の広い
世代の人々に楽しんでもらいながらそれを伝えていきたい！」という思いと指導のもとに、
まつとよ会の生徒とその仲間たちによりバンドとして形成された。伝統的な和音階に基づいた
民謡の形式に洋風音楽のアレンジをのせ、日本人以外の人々や日本の若い世代にも"うける
"音楽を創作中。現在はロサンゼルスを中心にイベントやお祭り、パーティーなどで演奏活動を
繰り広げ人気上昇中。日本音楽のすばらしい"美"と"心"を世界、また日本の人々に広め伝え
残すきっかけとなれるよう日々まい進中。

"The Direction of the Wind" Indicates the New Sound of Fusion Minyo-Japanese Folk
Music- that is Created by the Like the character, 風の行方 "The Direction of the
Wind", Minyo Station moves toward a New Sound -- Fusion Minyo: Traditional
Japanese Folk Music created by a Newer Generation. Like the wind, the Sound of
Minyo is being Blown from the East to the West! With the guidance of Matsutoyo
Sato, Minyo Station was formed, offering its unique sound to the Los Angeles and
San Francisco Bay areas. Matsutoyo Sato has created a vehicle to share Minyo
in a different style while still keeping its traditional sounds, while uniting the
individual music styles of each band member under one sound: Minyo Station.
Our mission as part of Matsutoyo Kai is to embrace Minyo and to continuously
move forward, sharing our music so that we can all learn more about Japanese
Culture, the Traditions and Daily Lives of its Ancestors, and its Beauty.
